Finley, we saw you today and you looked back at us…
We reckon you’ve got Momma’s nose but your big old heeeead is probably from Dad!
You were weighing in at a healthy 2 lbs. 13 oz., in the 73rd percentile for weight, and your Momma got very hungry during the several hour long examination which included drinking a very sugary drink and then testing for gestational diabetes. A trip to The Corner Bakery cured our hunger and we drove home happy that we had seen so much of you :)

You were sat on your right foot and your left foot was next to your head! Quite the contortionist ;-)

Belly Shots

No, no, no!! This is not about Martin and I taking body shots off each other’s bellies…it’s much sexier!! I haven’t posted belly pics in a long time, and figured it was high time I remedied that fact. So you get not one, not two, but four belly pictures to feast your eyes upon. Drink it in, drink it in. : ) In other news, we have our 28 week appointment on Thursday of this week, where we get to check in on Fin and I get to experience the much buzzed about Gestational Diabetes test. Will I pass? Will I fail? Will I still be able to see my toes over this belly by then? All you can do, folks, is tune in then and see. I promise a new post Thursday or Friday with all the nitty gritty on what’s going on with Finley and my blood sugar. I’m so excited, either way!! I can’t believe I’m almost 28 weeks!! Our little Fin-Flam is going to be here sooner rather than later, and that’s a blessing indeed! See you later this week!

This weekend went by way too fast but the highlight for me was feeling my son’s first hiccups!

Katie called me over to place a hand on her belly and sure enough, hiccups… Finley was hiccuping every 5 – 10 seconds and it was really neat, although perhaps not so much fun for him.

I read that all women will experience their babies hiccuping whilst still in the belly; it must be a very surreal feeling.

Anyway, my message to little Finley is;

Thanks son, you made my weekend. :)

The last three months have seen an exciting transformation to our upstairs rooms, most importantly to the future nursery for little Fin!

The renovations started with a complete clear out, a fresh coat of paint on all the walls followed by ripping up the old smelly carpet and installing clean hand scraped wood floors;

The next stage involved spending too much money, multiple visits to Babies R Us, Lonestar Baby and Ikea!

The last and most ambitious phase of the transformation was too incorporate a large Pirate themed mural on one of the walls. We had the best artist in North Texas (you know who you are… Mum!) helping us and it looks amazing!

Phase 2 involved filling in the details on the Pirate map, it was alot of fun :)
